The way to Measure for Room-Darkening Colors

Room-darkening shades may either take the place of drapes or complement them, making the space acceptable for late sleepers or movie aficionados. Depending on your appetite or the style you wish to make, they could be mounted inside the window frame or exterior of the window frame. Although an inside-the-frame mount supplies the best darkening, an exterior frame mount is adequate for most needs. The dimensions for each program differs, depending on where you want to mount the shades.

Interior Terrain Frame Measurements

Place the tip of the tape measure at the top left inside of the window frame. Measure the distance from the inner top to the interior bottom and record that measurement with pencil and paper. Move your tape measure into the top right inside of the window frame. Measure the distance from the inner top to the interior bottom and record that measurement with pencil and paper. If there is any variance in the dimension, use the shorter dimension as a guide.

Assess the interior window frame from side to side at both the top and the base of the frame. If there is any variance in the dimension, use the shorter dimension as a guide.

Submit these exact dimensions to a home and garden store, hardware shop or an internet provider when ordering your sunglasses. They use these exact dimensions to provide you with the appropriate fitting room-darkening shade for your window.

Outside Mounting Frame Measurements

Measure the exterior frame by beginning on the left side top and quantifying the frame from top to bottom. Move to the perfect side and assess the frame from top to bottom. Record that dimension with pencil and paper and If there is any variance in the dimension, use the longer measurement as a guide.

Add at least 2 inches to each side of the dimensions. This inclusion is dependent totally on the size and style of the shade you wish to use. In some cases with certain styles of shades, you may add as much as 4 inches to each side. As an example, if the top to bottom window dimension is 24 inches, add two inches to each end for a combined total of 28 inches. This is the way long the shade must be to adequately and effectively cover a 24-inch outside-the-frame dimension.
